About the Foundation
Who is the Fatema Foundation?
The Fatema Foundation CIO is a registered charity in England and Wales, number 1213106, registered on 28 April 2025. We support vulnerable communities in Bangladesh and the UK with food, clean water and shelter. We are based at 42 High Street, Wanstead, London E11 2RJ.
Where do you work?
We work in Bangladesh, where our teams work directly with local communities on food, water, shelter and village infrastructure, and in the UK, where we provide food parcels and community support through local partners such as mosques, churches and community centres.
How can I check you are a real charity?
Search for charity number 1213106 on the Charity Commission register for England and Wales. It lists our name, registration date, trustees and contact details. You can also see photos and videos of our projects on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Who runs the charity?
The Foundation is governed by four trustees: Ali Khan (Chair), Jaabir Khan, Ali Ahmed Khan and Sabera Khan. The trustees are responsible for the charity's work, management and administration.
Giving
What does the 100% donation policy mean?
It means every penny you donate goes to our programmes. Our operational costs are covered separately, so nothing is taken from your gift for administration. This applies to general donations, Sadaqah and Zakat.
How is Zakat handled?
When you mark a donation as Zakat, or put “Zakat” in your bank transfer reference, we track it separately from other donations and distribute it appropriately. Use our Zakat calculator to work out what you owe.
Can I give monthly?
Yes. Choose the monthly option when you donate online. Monthly gifts help us plan food distributions and water projects ahead, and you can cancel at any time by contacting us.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Online card payments are processed by Stripe over an encrypted connection. We never see or store your full card details.
Getting involved
Can I volunteer?
Yes. We welcome help packing and delivering food parcels in East London, running Ramadan appeals and events, and sharing professional skills. Fill in the volunteer form and we will be in touch about opportunities that suit you.
Can my business support you?
Yes. Businesses can sponsor a project in Bangladesh, back staff fundraising with matched giving, bring a team to volunteer or donate food and goods. Visit our corporate partnerships page or contact us to talk it through.
